Estradiol Patches

Estradiol Patches are stuck to the skin and deliver a steady supply into the blood stream. They are typically applied to the buttocks or abdomen. Transdermal patches are one of the safest and most well studied delivery methods for hormones, avoiding both the liver pass through which accounts for most of the complications associated with oral delivery methods and also avoids self injection which can be a difficult task for those with severe needle phobias.

The main downsides with transdermal patches can be difficulty maintaining higher Estradiol levels in some people, flare ups for those with skin conditions such as Psoriasis, and sensory issues with having the patches attached continuously particularly for neurodivergent people.
